Since its formation in 1969, Harambee DT SACCO Society Ltd has been operating on a common bond model. The society primarily drew its membership from Government institutions.
The society through the 47th Annual Delegates meeting discussed and endorsed a proposal to open the common bond. The society operationalized the open bond in year 2020 and currently Kenyan citizens (both residents and non-residents) who fit within the various determined categories are eligible to join Harambee DT SACCO Society Ltd.
Opening the common bond presents the Society with an opportunity for faster growth and expansion.

Employees in government or reputable non-government institutions, including SACCO staff and subsidiaries. These organizations must have an MOU guiding monthly remittances.

This program encourages members retiring from formal employment to continue with membership. The program encourages active Wafanisi members to channel their pension through Harambee DT SACCO FOSA and continue saving even after retirement. This way the retiring members can continue accessing loan facilities using their pension or other incomes.
